Spot on eye?

I have had a "spot" on my right eye for years. If I look at a white wall, book, etc,it appears as a dark dot,but lately it appears to have a little squiggly line coming out of it. ANy clue what this may be? I have no health insurance, and can't afford to pay for a dr right now as my youngest has been diagnosed with CP and I am not working so I can care for him.

It has changed,it started out as a dot,now it is a larger dot w/ a squiggley line coming out of it. It is in the same place.

If it moves its likely a floater. If you've had it for years and its not changed its not likely serious.
