Spots in vision after eye injury

I was looking for sometihng on a shelf when a book fell down hit me right in the eye. After the injury my vision was kind of strange, there was a kind of spot in my vision where the book had hit me, in the top right area of my right eye. I ended up going to the ER, and an ophthalmologist. Between the two doctors visits(just hours after the injury), they said my eye was fine, just somewhat bruised.

Now, a few days after the injury, the spot is clearing up and the minor swelling is going down, but i am noticing some small spots in my peripheral vision. Not all the time, i only tend to notice them when i move my eyes, or in transitions from dark to bright light, like leaving a building on a sunny day or something. I can't really tell if they are going away or not, it's kind of hard to say. They are in the same spot as where i got hit, top right of my eye. Is this permanent, or will they go away over time? What could be causing it?

Call the ophthalmologist's office and ask your question. You may need to be rechecked.
