Steroid Drops to Treat a Small Conjunctival Cyst

My eye doctor prescribed Alrex steroid eye drops to treat a small conjunctival cyst.  Each time I stopped using the drops after taking 3 drops per day for 3 days the cyst came back.  It is causing some mild discomfort and blurry vision but not severe -- just annoying.  Now he says use one drop per day for 8 weeks.  Do you recommend doing this or just letting it resolve itself?  Is it likely to get bigger before going away or just eventually resolving itself if left alone.

Be sure you are under the care of an eye MD physician. I do not treat conjunctival cysts with steroids. They often go away by themselves. If they are large and the patient feels them or they are a cosmetic problem I do an office drainage under topical anesthesia. Take less than 15 seconds to do. Some reaccumulate but most don't. Worse case they can be excised.
