Steroid treatment of chalazion

Steroid treatment of chalazion

I had a chalazion on my upper left eyelid treated with a steroid injection about 4 months ago.  It did reduce the size of the chalazion to the size of a grain of rice.  However, now my right eyelid is always red and the injection caused about half of my eyelid margin to atrophy.  My question is will the redness ever go away and will tissue lost from the injection ever fill out or grow back?

The redness may fade but tissue loss recovery is less likely. I suggest you see an oculoplastic surgeon to discuss the problem and "fixes". Find one at www.aao.org or ask your eye MD to refer you.
