Strange Visual Occurences

There are occasions where both of my eyes will undergo a strange visual effect.  It's not blurry, but it reminds me of static on a "color" TV.  It starts out small near the center of my vision and in the shape of the letter "C".  Similar to a tunnel vision effect except "C" shaped.  Over a period of minutes it spreads out over the whole eye.  While this occurs, I cannot see very well.  When it first happened I had thought that it was from something I had eaten.  

Has anyone ever heard of this before and what could this possibly be?

Hello, I have been experiencing the same symptoms, only maybe worse. I am 17 yrs old almost 18, and I have had this problem for about 4 yrs now or more. I was diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation in 2007 which they discovered in an MRI. I also have Fibromayliga. My vision problem first started off when my vision slowly became blurry with blind spots. Now I see strange colors in my vision 24/7 with my eyes opened or closed. I also have a very strange feeling in my head 24/7 like I not even here.

It could be:  transient ischemic attack (TIA) due to disease of eye, brain, heart, blood vessels or eye/ophthalmic migraine.

Use the search feature and archives to read about these problmes. VERY common. Discussed at length in the past.

You need to see an Eye MD and a general MD.
