Sudden, Temporary Vision Change...

it has been a stressful week.. i haven't had much sleep at all, and my daughter has been the sickest she has ever been.  last night  i was so anxious that i couldn't sleep...  we all got into bed at around 10 & was on my computer from then until about 2.  when i can't sleep, i surf the web.  also, it was pretty dark.. we keep the hall light on, but that's only a little light coming through.  anyway, i noticed this area that seemed to be to the lower left of my left pupil that started to flicker like static.  it kept growing in size until it was a moon shape that seemed to wrap around the left side of my left pupil.  it seemed like as it grew, only the outer edge was static-like (they were like little mirror triangles reflecting reds, blues, and yellows), and the inside was dark.  so i had sort of a blind spot...  as soon as i started to bawl (thought i was going blind), it went away.............   do you think sleep deprivation and/or long computer use did this?  i called the dr. & am waiting to hear back.  

i would like to add that i use the computer at night often, because i sleep terribly.  last night i used it for much longer than usual..  i also have had chronic sinus problems this summer.  there have been 3 nights this week that i have not slept more than 3-4 hours.  i'm kind of used to the lack of sleep thing though (or so i thought), just not quite this little of sleep.

thank you for responding!  i don't have eye care insurance unfortunately... however, i did call an eye md's office today & spoke with the doctor, herself.  she said it sounds like an ocular migraine also.  i forgot to add in my original post that it was followed by a terrible headache all over the right side of my head (mostly above my right eye).  i've also had chronic sinusitis all summer, so i just passed it off as being from that.. which is why i didn't think to post it first.  anyway, tonight i feel like i might be getting an actual sinus infection.  there is so much pressure behind my eyes, i just feel out of it... and it's starting to drain down my throat.  i used the neti pot & have been sleeping most of the day.
