Sudden vision deterioration - MMD

I am 56 year old and very near sighted (-1.2) since I was a teenager.  I started seeing wavy line with my right eye about a year ago.  I have been going to an RS for routine check up.  I just finished my 6-month checkup, including a Fluorescein angiography, and was told everything was fine.  I could see 20/20 with both eyes during the visit.  One week later, I noticed everything was greatly distorted when I was watching TV and smaller prints on the computer screen were not legible.  I went back to my RS for more examines and she told me I have Myopic Macular Degeneration.  A swelling blood vessel and pocket of fluid caused the distortion and blurry vision.  At that time I could only see the top two lines on the chart with my right eye.  I was shocked things could deteriorate so quickly and nothing was detected during the check-up.

She gave me an Avastin injection and told me to go back in one month.  My RS said I should start seeing improvement a few days later.  It has been two weeks.  I can sense the distortion is less but I still see wavy lines and could not read the computer screen with my right eye.  I am very concerned about my condition.  Is this nornal recovery process?  Will my right eye ever be able to read smaller print on computer or it will progressively get worse?

Thank you for any advise you can give me.

The response varies. You may need additional injections.  You should consider seeing your doctor sooner.
