Sunken Eyes?

what causes  sunken eyes? my 10 month old grandson was treated for Kawasaki Disease a couple of days ago now his eyes look like they are sinking in and so is his soft spot.  Does any one know what this means?

If his soft spot or fontanelle (sp) is also sunken in, it might just be that he is quite ill, and has lost body weight and has developed that sunken eye appearance that improves after increased nutrition and recovery.  I think basically he may have lost some weight, but hopefully, just a temporary thing.  I wish him well.
