My left eyelid has been swollen for three days, there is no pain, no bump or itching, but i do feel slight pressure on my eye. It is swollen evenly through and very noticable compared to my other eye, i have tried warm compresses and iceing my eye but nothing has worked. It has not gotten worst but the swelling is still there and really worrying me. I do not have insurance so i can't see a doctor. How long is this going to last and what should i do?
Unfortunately I can not help you without being able to examine your eye. You have two options to get your eyes examined (which you should have done). 1) call different ophthalmologists offices in your area and get a price quote from them over the phone (they should at least give you a range) and pick one. 2) see if there is a county hospital in your area with an opthalmology department where uninsured patients can get care for a fraction of the price. The waits at the county hospital could be horrendous though and you usually have to go in through the emergency room to get the referral to the ophthalmology clinic. Good luck.
