Swollen out of nowhere

on Tuesday of this week my left upper eyelid suddenly started hurting then it started getting puffy, Thinking it was a sty I put warm towel on it and put Eythromycin cream. That did nothing and only made my eyelid more swollen. Its slightly red and so swollen my eye is almost shut. It hurts when I blink or touch it and it very sensitive. My mother might think a bug bit me or I accidentally hit myself. Whats wrong with my eye?

A stye is high on the list.  However, there could be other causes.  The Erythromycin cream will help the overall infection of the lid if present but not make the new stye go away.  The warm compresses will definitely help.  

You should see an EyeMD if it does not get better.
