Temporary partial loss of vision

Temporary partial loss of vision

Hello,

I suddenly suffer from partial loss of vision. It comes on quickly and has no other symptoms. It is hard to describe but I guess dark pathches appear in a random pattern where large areas of my vision are covered by relitavely large dark/black patches. It lasts a few minutes and disappears. It happened last night whilst lying in the bath and before that while I was physically playing with my son, and makes me wonder if perhaps it is blood pressure related?

I don't want to bother my doctor as there are no other symptoms and only occurs, I would say once every month or two.

The only other thing related to my eyes is they are often quite bloodshot, but don't think this is related.

It hopefully is not a big deal but you should definitely go see an ophthalmologist for a full dilated eye examination to make sure all is normal.  Blood pressure is relatively simple to check and if you have concerns you could easily get it checked at the local pharmacy or your primary care physician to be sure.
