Thygenson's and contact lenses

by cardinals79, Feb 24, 2009 04:40PM
I was just diagnosed with Thygenson's yesterday.  I am 30 years old and never had a problem until about 4 weeks ago.  I know nothing about this and my eye surgeon says its very rare.  I need to understand that is it true I will never be able to wear contacts again and is lasik surgery a no go regardless if it heals.

You can use the search feature and archives to read about Thygenson's corneal keratitis. The section on emedicine is good also.

I have had patients that did return to contacts but most don't.  Lasik is not advised on an irritated cornea.
