To fill or not to fill prescription?

To fill or not to fill prescription?

I have a prescription for a minor correction for the right eye, the left eye is fine.  The prescreption is 1.00, -.50 with an axis of 82.  Since it is minor, is there any potential negatives of not filling?  I have done research and there seems to be conflicting opinions.   Overall, the eyesight is pretty good - I have noticed over the past 18 months that I have to move up slightly ( i.e. one row) in meetings to see comfortably, but nothing major

Thanks

Assuming you are an adult you will not hurt your eye by not getting this Rx and if you are happy with your vision spend your money on something else.

I have the same problem, only even more minor.

My left eye is perfectly fine.
My right eye has a prescription of
Cylinder -.50
Axis 100

I'm currently 18, attending art school so i am spending a lot of time in front of the computer screen and up close to my sketch book. When I saw my optometrist the Rx made a noticeable difference but I'm still not sure if I should get glasses. My friends say i probably should to prevent my eyes from getting worst since I spend so much time looking at close objects. But my parents don't think I should because they don't think glasses would make a difference.
