Toxo scar

Toxo scar

Hi! I m 19 years old  and a year ago the doctors found a scar in my eye which was caused by toxo. The scar is near the center vision and one part of my vision is damaged. In addition, I have a dioptre -3, 25 and -2, 77 on my left eye. In the past few days I noticed some changes..Now I m waiting for doctors to call me..and I m very scared. Is there any surgery that could stop spreading of that scar or its  activation? Thank you very much.

If the scar ever becomes active, you will need to start medication right away.  If there has been a change in your vision lately, you need to call your eye MD and go see someone immediately to get checked.  Otherwise, there is no real way to get rid of the scar or prevent reactivation.  You should simply be aware of the presence of the risk for reactivation if you ever need to go on oral steroid treatment (prednisone or similar) so that your doctors take the appropriate risk/benefit analysis into account (they may want to put you on a mild antibiotic if you ever need to take steroid medications to prevent the potential risk for reactivation).

Hi! again..I just want to say that I ended in hospital...My vision was in danger because the scar become active again , I took klimicin ( 4x1, 300mg) for three weeks, then sinersul (2x2, 448mg)  for one week. Except that I took corticosteroids, beginig from 80 mg,(one week),  then 48, 32, 24, 16..I m still on 16mg, next week Im going to 8..Its becoming very well, but I hope it wont be active again. Even the hole, small hole in my vision (which is because the scar covers one part of "yellow spot" ) become smaller, just a little bit.
