"Under Water" Effect

I"m 32 years old and have never worn glasses nor had sight problems...until 2006.  In my 9th month of pregnancy (with a large baby) I had an episode while driving to get something to eat.  In my left eye, in the corner, a blurry spot occurred.  I felt fine, just hungry, but the blurry spot grew and grew until my whole left eye was blurry.  I felt like I was underwater in a sense...with wavy blurs going across my whole eye.  I could not read and had to stop driving.  It slowly went away after 20+ minutes.  I ate a little bit in the meantime.  Could it have been a sugar low/diabetic problem?  Well, it's happened randomly over the past 2 years at places and events.  It occurred again this morning after exercising.  I had a bowl of cereal, normal routine, felt great.  Left eye formed a "circular underwater" effect that played over into my right eye.  The spot grew until my whole left eye was consumed and partial right eye.  Lasted for about 20 minutes and then went away.  No dizziness, no headache, no unusual "feelings".  Any thoughts??

It likely was an eye or ophthalmic migraine. However you need to see an eye MD to be sure its not something more serious. Find one at www.aao.org

hi there
it sounds exactly like an optical migraine, perhaps initiated by your pregnancy. optical migraines are often unaccompanied by headaches and the duration of the visual disturbance matches perfectly. i suffer from these, and they are often triggered by intense exercise, hunger, or occur just randomly.
