Undiagnosed Eye Condition

I am experiencing changes in my vision. I am 36 yr old female. My present symptoms are floaters, loss of contrast (colors look less vivid) .  I have lost  night vision. At night I see static.  In the day, my eyes don't adjust to light properly and the glare makes things look what I call "misty". I'm also light sensitive.  I also see after images . Mostly when looking from something bright to something dark, but I have also seen them in reverse. I also can see what looks like veins when a penlight is shined in my eye, and usually before bed. The problems began about 4 months ago and have abruptly changed my whole life.  They seem to have started after a 3 week hospital stay for a collapsed lung from a cortisol injection to the shoulder which accidentally hit my lung. I have have 5 dilated eye exams and an mri of my brain, orbits and cervical spine. None of them have found a problem. Where should i go from here? I am considering fluorescien angiograph to look at blood vessels, and possibly seeing a neural opthalmologist.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Yes, I agree.  A neuro-ophthalmologist would be the best place to start.  If you do indeed still have normal 20/20 visual acuity, then that would be a very good sign.  Usually, serious eye problems are fairly easy to identify.  Occasionally, we get these complex, one in a million type of cases that make us scratch our heads.  All I can say is that it requires a very patient, interested, intelligent doctor to sometims unravel the mystery.  Lots of diagnostic tests are usually required and (be prepared for this) sometimes we just can't find anything wrong.  But we try.  Good Luck with the neuro-ophthalmologist.
