Unusual post avastin injection experience

Hello,

I've had several injections of Avastin in both eyes to help treat MMD. During my last visit, when he injected the right eye the DR. said a little air got in there. Later that day, I experienced a bubble on the outside of the eye. The bubble was much smaller by morning, and dissipated by the the next day.

It did leave behind some blood in the scerla. It has now been a week, and the blood has moved to circle the iris. Should I be seen by the doctor again or is this a result of the air? My Doctor is out, so it would mean finding another specialist.

Thanks for you guidance.

Mike

If there is no pain and no decreased vision I would not worry. The air did not cause this. Injecting through conjunctiva and sclera which have blood vessesl can sometimes cause bleeding on the outside of the eye, like when they draw blood from your arm. If there is a big problem your Eye MD will have left someone to take his/her calls.
