Using Bromday

Using Bromday

My glaucoma specialist ( she did both a cataract and glaucoma operation on me a little over two years ago ), recently has me on Bromday for the past two months to try to correct an eye problem I've been having.
When she first put me on Bromday, she instructed me to use it once a day, but, only when I felt I needed it.( When I would feel eye pain, discomfort in the eye, or excessive tearing) I would do so, and, within two to four days the eye pain and tearing would go away.
My eye problem has gotten worse, and, this last visit, March 28th, she told me to use Bromday everyday, till my next visit, April 29th.
I was a bit concerned with why she now wanted me to use it every day, rather than only when I felt I needed it, so, this morning, I finally checked on Bromday's use, and it's side effects.
I reed that this medication is commonly used for cataract surgery, and, it's not to be used for more that 14 days post surgery.
My question, I do remember her telling me my eye problem is associated with the glaucoma operation "bleb", and not my cataract surgery. She is prescribing Bromday to me for the glaucoma problem. Would that still be ok for me to use Bromday, one drop a day, for 30 days, without any concern?

Usually yes.  Bromday is overall a very safe medication in the NSAID class (like ibuprofen for the eye) and outside of some rare problems with it, long-term use has been advocated in some patients.  People with macular edema take this class of medication for months at a time with only rare problems from it.  If it is helping your problem (I can't be sure exactly what that is from your post), I would continue per your surgeon's recommendations.
