Veil after cataract surgery

Veil after cataract surgery

Dear Doc,
My mother, aged 62 yrs., has got her cataract surgery done on 21st May 2011. Though her vision has improved after surgery but she complains of a veil before her eye.
Is there anything wrong with the operation or with her eyesight? Will this veil go on its own or something needs to be done about this?

This needs to be discussed with the surgeon. Call their office today. I can't tell. CALL TODAY.  Very important to be sure its not a retinal detachment.

Dear Doc,
We have talked to the surgeon and he says that the operation has been absolutely ok. But he is not offering any explanation as to the veil.

If you could kindly give any indication as to what could it possibly be apart from retinal detachment?

Thanks & Regards for your help!

No without an exam it is only a speculation which is not constructive. If possible move up her next appointment so the surgeon can see her sooner. She should have a dilated pupil exam of the retina.
