Very Sensitive Eye After Getting New Contacts

Very Sensitive Eye After Getting New Contacts

Hi,

I recently got new contacts for my eyes. After 2 weeks of trial period. I got the new box set. Immediately after that, my eyes became red. It didn't itch or anything like that. The redness is mostly around the iris but is spread to other white parts of my eyes. I stopped wearing my contacts for a week. It seemed to go away. However, after wearing my contacts for the next 2 days, my eyes became red again.

Now my eyes are also sensitive to light. I can't even look at a computer screen in a dimly light room. Furthermore, when I yawn or blink, (anything that would cause that tearing reflex) my eyes would get so irritated that I can't open my eyes. My eyes are not itchy, they are just red and my eyes sting bad after the tearing reflex.

I know I probably got an infection. Can someone tell me exactly what it could be from my description? What do I need to do? And more importantly, how long will it take for this to go away. I'm currently using the Clear Eye Maximum redness relief eye drop. It seems to help. I don't have any allergies or any other pre-existing conditions.

I've had contacts for almost 10 years and never had an eye infection until now. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to go back to your eye doctor.  It could be a change in solutions or a problem with the contacts.
