Vigamox Side Effects

Vigamox Side Effects

My eye doctor gave me Vigamox because I had a red spot on my eye, which she said was probably from contacts overwear.  The red spot didn't hurt or itch. It was just concerning to us because of my past history with pseudamonas from a scratch on the eye, resulting in a scar a millimeter from my pupil. I used the Vigamox throughout the week. After two weeks without contacts and having used Vigamox, I went to put my contacts in. My eye that I applied Vigamox to has now been too dry to keep the contacts in for the last two to three weeks. It's been approximately three weeks to a month since I used Vigamox. Is it possible that teh Vigamox caused this dry eye I'm still experiencing? If so, is there a chance it will return to normal? I've never had a problem with my eyes being too dry to keep contacts in until now, and I've tried two different contact trials (AirOptix and Biofinity) along with contact rewetting drops - neither of which gave me any relief.  Again, before Vigamox, I had Acuvue Advance, which aren't specialty hydrogels, and never had a problem with dry eyes.

This problem needs to be discussed with you ophthalmologist or optometrist. It does not lend itself to specific recommendations in this format.
