Visian ICL and flashing lights

I had Visian ICL performed about 2 weeks ago on my left eye.  I'm in my late 20s and my myopia is in the -10 diopter range. The surgeon did not feel that enough resistance was met when he implanted the lens so he did not perform the right eye implantation that day. At my one day follow up scans were run and I was told everything looked fine with the lens.  However a larger sized lens was ordered for my right eye.  My pupil was constricted after surgery with a miotic eye drop and stayed very constricted, which affected my vision of course for 5-6 days after the procedure.  Five days after the lens was implanted, I noted a few flashes of light in my left lateral peripheral vision.  They became more frequent the following day and I called the surgeon.  He thought this may be resulting from the left lens being too small and told me he had ordered a larger replacement for my left eye so we would go ahead and replace that one as well.
I had the small left eye lens removed and both larger lenses implanted in both eyes the following day.  I asked him to use less miotic drops this time if possible and he did comply with this request.  I noted a few flashes in my left eye the next day which has continued to increase to about 20 or so a day.  Looking at a computer screen seems to increase the amount of flashes I experience.  About 3 days after the right eye lens was implanted I started to experience flashes with the right lateral peripheral visual field as well, although less in frequency than the left eye.
I've had no new floaters and my vision is good at about 20/20.  I am wondering if this could be a posterior vitreous detachment.  I had floaters in my right eye develop about 3 years ago and they have gradually dwindled over the years.  I haven't seen flashing lights listed as an adverse outcome from this procedure anywhere I have looked. Thanks so much for any advice/ thoughts you could offer.

One more thing....My eyes were constricted from the drops, for nearly a week after my surgery too!  It gradually went back to normal.

Since its been over a year since this post - You may have already found out what your flashing lights were.

As Dr. O above explained it could be due to vitreous detachment. I hope you got that checked out.

An alternative theory.....for other readers seeking answers, is your iridotomy holes.

These holes on the top portion of your iris were placed there before your surgery to allow fluid flow and prevent glaucoma.

A side effect of this procedure is that it is another hole that allows light in, be it a small amount.

Many people, myself included,  can see sreaks of lights shoot across the vision or what seem like light flashes if passing lights reach that hole.  Or if I raise my eye lids exposing the iridotomy.

For me - these streaks are transparent and only in special conditions. Ultimately it's a minor inconvenience for me compared to contact lenses.

I am NOT saying this was your problem, but that it could be considered.

The only way to tell if this is due to vitreous is to have an dilated slit lamp and fundus exam.
