Vision change after pink eye

Vision change after pink eye

My husband, 64, got pink eye in May.  He was put on eye drops to help clear up pink eye.  He has a corneal graft of 40 years and a cataract that they say is very minor for the last 10 years plus.  Ever since pink eye has cleared up he has noticed that his vision is getting worse he cannot see as clearly as he did before and must get closer to the TV to be able to see it or squint to read a clock on the wall.  When looking at peoples faces they are blurry.  On top of all this he has developed visual snow which when he asked the eye dr and the retnia specialist they looked at him like what is that.  He has become extremely depressed, will not go out of the house and believes he i going blind eventually.  Can anyone please give me some help as to what direction we should go next?  I am at my wits ends to try to help him.  Thank you.  Mebbie

Dear mebbie62,

I would recommend that he seek the care of an eyeMD specializing in cornea to determine whether he might be having a rejection episode. If he sees new floaters or spots, he might have inflammation or other conditions.  Finding the appropriate diagnosis and then, treatment is needed.
