Vision change

Hello, I wanted to ask a question regarding my vision. Two years ago I sought medical help after I had a sudden vision disturbance in my left eye (blurring and double, along with a feeling of pressure--like I was punched in the eye). I went to neuro and ophthalmo specialists with not much of an answer other than an ocular migraine. However, prior to this I've dealt with migraines for over 25 years without any vision changes.

Just the other day I had another scary incident. My vision suddenly started to go gray-black, like dimming, this time in both eyes. I felt like my bloodflow was being reduced to my head and I was about to faint--though I didn't. This disturbance persisted for more than an hour. I then developed a headache and nausea most of the day which I attributed to another migraine, although I don't typically suffer migraines this way. My vision did return.

I am a 37 year old woman with a history of heart rhythm issues but could not detect anything odd about my heart at the time. Do migraines produce symptoms like this? This latest incident was incredibly scary, but in the past I have tried to get medical advice for my vision that proved mostly fruitless. I was so scared I would completely lose my vision. Do you have any suggestions as to who I could go to about this or should I continue to pursue it further? I don't want to look like a pushy fool. Thanks.

Yes an Eye Migraine could cause those symptoms but other things can including disease of heart, brain, eye, blood vessels. Return to your Eye MD or see a neuro ophthalmologist. Find one at www.aao.org
