Vision changes completely, randomly.

My eye sight will sometimes change completely after waking up from sleep, or focusing on my computer monitor. Everything in my eye sight appears farther away, including my appendages during this phenomena. This sometimes happens when I am awake, after changing my focus point quickly, but some times I can shake it off, by widely opening my eyes, and looking around my room.

Does anyone experience this? because I feel like I am the only person who has this problem.

It sounds like you are either experiencing early presbyopia or accommodative spasm. Any doubling of your vision? As we approach the 4th decade of life our near vision begins to diminish. This is presbyopia. As we approach this stage, though, our eyes will work extra hard to see near and sometimes go into near vision spasm (accommodative spasm) where things will seem far away or smaller. You might need to begin using some reading glasses from over the counter.
Best wishes,
Timothy D. McGarity, M.D.
