Visual Disturbances

by rennur, Sep 04, 2007 07:54PM
Well, recently I've been seeing strange colored dots in my vision, an occasional black line seems to shoot across my vision.  Now and then I notice weird shadow figures roaming around my vision.  When I look at light there seems to be lines of it  streaking everywhere, this all started after a bad migraine.  It's apparently "visual aura" I've had this for several months.  Am I going to have to deal with this the rest of my life?

Visual aura's don't last several months. They are there max for about the duration of a eye migraine attack (say 30 minutes to several hours).

You need to see an ophthalmologist (Eye MD) preferably a neuro-ophthalmologist.

I am finding that sometimes the doctors contradict themselves or each other. YES you can have a permanent migraine aura without infarction. This doctor HIMSELF said this, so I do not know why now he is saying ' NO. IMPOSSIBLE." It's so weird

I have been noticing this in my eyes as well Rennur!! I do not know what it can be, some times the shadows look like lines when I turn my head left or right or sometimes they can look like cloudy circles! I do not know what they can be sadly I am cash strapped to see an eye doctor but I have heard it could be a range of things from Viterous floaters to Aura/Negative Photophisa to even a possible Retinal Detachment.

I also looked on this site and abroad  the internet and finding others with the same problems and no one can come up with why this is going on. I mostly notice these on a bright wall like you do.

weird.
