Visual changes

My right eye droops.  Infact you can see the facial weakness on my whole right side of face.  Periodically I start with black floaties in the right eye then I can't see anything.  Late at night I notice halos around objects also.  I have several headaches weekly usually upon awakening.  I used to have migranes (migraines) with auras.  Then the headaches stopped but I still had the auras.  A year ago I went to the Ophthamologist because I was having visual changes.  He said there was a large red spot behind my right eye which he took a picture of.  He said he would check again in another year for changes.  I recently had an mri that showed 2 - t2 hyperintensities in the frontal lobe.  Could this be part of the blindness and other visual changes I've been having?  Thank you.

Sorry I forgot to add, which probably is important to you, I only take 800 mg of Ibuprofen 3 x a day and 4 mg tizanidine 1 x day.  Ibuprofen for the muscular and joint pain and tizanidine for the leg cramps.

A droopy eyelid (upper) is called ptosis (on the lower lid its called ectropion).  If you are born with ptosis its called congenital ptosis, if it develops later in life its called acquired ptosis.  Acquired ptosis needs a work up to make sure there is not a neurological disease such as myasthenia gravis, Horner's syndrome, facial paralysis, etc.

I have no idea what the red spot is. But you need to see an ophthalmologist about your acquired ptosis. Be sure the staff does not put any drops in your eye before the eye MD sees you. If you have a neuro-opthalmologist in your area that would be an even better choice. You can go to www.aao.org and find one near you.

Thank you for your reply.  I would say it is an acquired one.  A year ago when I went for my eye exam, when he dialated them, the right eye closed.  He had to hold it open to finished the exam.  Thanks you for the advice, with the new visual changes going on of the frequent blindness it's time to go.  Thank you again.

Again be sure the staff doesn't put in drops before the eye md sees you. take in an old facial photo of high quality taken 3-5 years ago that show your lids normal and a recent one that shows the lid drooping.
