Vitrectomy & Sex

I'm a 7 days post vitrectomy patient and have been told to avoid sex for at least 2 weeks.
Would this be due to the physical aspect (I've also been told to avoid exercise for 2 weeks) or because something actually happens to the eye from sex (e.g. an increase in pressure)?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. So it's the physical exercise part which should be avoided, NOT the actual affect that sex would have on the eyes (e.g. pupil dilation)?

Yes, you need to avoid strenuous physical exercise.
