Vitreous detachment

Vitreous detachment

In the last year I've experienced two vitreous detachments, one in each, with lots of floaters but exams showed no tears or holes in the retina.  What is the likelihood of recurrence?  I'm 60+

I would discuss this with your ophthalmologist. I did a google search, but could not find anything really definite.

Once the vitreous detaches it does not re-attach. If you had one in each eye it is not likely to re-occur. The vitreous detaches though over a variable period of time sometimes as long a 6-12 months usually within 6 week
