Vitreous hemorrhage rebleeding

tbj
I had two retinal tears repaired in July.  there was a small amount of bleeding then.  In early August I had a large amount of blood that we are treating by waiting for it to clear up.  It is clearing up slowly, but it rebled again yesterday (I think).  It is not as bad as the one early this month.  I just saw my doctor two days ago and he will see me again at the end of the month.  I have seen him about 5 times in the last month.  I don't see any reason to call him about this new bleed as it is not that bad and appears to be clearing again.  Does that seem reasonable?  I know if I call, he will ask me to come in and I truly believe it is just a little bleed that doesn't need anything but time.

What do you think?

It the ultrasound show a detachment you need immediate surgery.  A retinal detachment is the major concern in some who has had retinal tears.  New bleeding indicates something has changed.

So, if it is a new bleed, and he can't see it what does he do about it because of the blood?

You need to be seen and have an ultrasound examination of the eye.  I would be concerned about new tears causing the bleeding.
