Waiting for Posterior Subcapsular Cataract?

Waiting for Posterior Subcapsular Cataract?

Starting about 2 months ago I began to notice blurry vision in my right eye and sensitivity, and knew I needed to see an eye doctor but was working out of town and thought I was too busy.  Then over the last 2-3 weeks, I noticed a rapid progression of the cloudiness over my vision, and more sensitivity to light in that eye. Even over the last 2-3 days my ability to see through the cloudiness & keep my eye open in the light drastically decreased.  So yesterday I finally went to eye doctor and was told I have a Posterior Subcapsular Cataract.  The doctor told me that if I didn't have surgery soon, within a couple months my vision in that eye could be very bad.   I am now having to go through my HMO, to see my primary care physician to get referral to their Opthamology dept.  MY QUESTION is....this is not a quick process, my appointment to the PCP is not for 2 more days, then who knows how long for referral appt in Opthamology dept......AND today I noticed even more cloudiness and experience MORE sensitivity....So...is this urgent? Will 2 days or 2 weeks make any difference to my permanent vision once cataract removed??  Should I be jumping up and down demanding a speedy appt and rush to surgery?

A PSC cataract grows usually faster, much faster, than "aging" cataracts. No waiting several weeks or months will not create a problem if all you have is PSC cataracts.
