Waking up with Double Vision

Waking up with Double Vision

Hello, Im a healthy 23 year old female and for the past five days I have woken up with double vision.  My double vision only lasts for about 20-30 minutes, then goes away.  When I take a nap in the daytime, like today for example, the double vision will only last for a short 5-10 minutes.  I have no other symptoms beside the double vision.  I have no blury vision, headaches, nausea or dizziness.  Im not sure exactly what to do.  I have an appointment with an opthomologist in a few days, but I think I need to see a neurologist.  I am not a diabetic.  I was seen by the ER for my double vision, but they assumed nothing of it after they checked my blood glucose level and blood pressure.  Everything was normal, but then again, at this time, I did not have the double vision.  I was just wondering if anyone knew what could cause this for the short time that it does, and why it could possibly be occuring daily.

Double vision, like chest pain, is a potentially serious symptom and always deserves a complete work up. See your neurologist and your ophthalmologist as planned.
