Water damage the surface of your eyes?

can the chemicals in the water damage the surface of the eye (cornea ,conjunctiva ,sclera)?

You need to be more specific about which type of chemicals. I'll assume you are refering to either tap water or chlorinated pool water. Tap water should not have damaging chemicals. Pool water typically has chlorine which can temporarily damage the eye surface. The eye recovers from this damage, but theoretically over time, with repeated exposure, the surface could become permanently damaged.
