Wavy vision

I am 31 years old with no previous hx of eye problems- 20/20. Today for about 20 mintues my right eye's field of vision becam wavy, first starting in the periphery and then the whole field. It did not accompany a headache or loss of vision. It cleared eventually and has been fine for last few hours. I take concerta 54mg, zyrtec and vitamins everyday. Who should I see? I have also been having sinus pressure and tooth pain (thought from pollen) over last few weeks- not sure if it's related. It was very scary and I want to see the appropriate md asap.  Thanks!

Yesterday I took my friends alza 36 pill to see if it would help me with my studies. I was concentrated at first but then couple hours later my vision got wavy. My friend then told me to sleep it off and then the next day will be back to normal. I did but I still had this problem. I had this problem before couple months ago but I didn't connect two and two that pill was the reason I had these problems. I went to see the doctors were I had blood drawn, scan on my brain and my eyes check but everything was perfect. So they thought I had a concussion. It wore off eventually after many weeks and everything was just starting to be normal and then I took another pill. What should I do?

Sounds a lot like a visual migraine - perhaps 95% chance that is what it is.  See your primary care physican and ophthalmologist for evaluation because rarely other things like TIA or stroke or other vascular problems can cause similar symptoms.

That is surely an ocular migraine. A headache is NOT required for it to be migraine.

Search on "ocular migraine," or "ophthalmic migraine."

I've had three of those--no headache. Most of my family members have had similar auras, sometimes without headache.

They are scary, though!! When I had my first one, I'd never heard of an ocular migraine, and I thought I was having a stroke!

If you have not seen an ophthalmologist, you should anyway. My regular doctor sent me to one after that first ocular migraine. It's a good idea to get everything checked out.
