Wearing contact lenses for myopia while reading/working with PC

Hello,

I have myopia and I use extended wear contact lenses (Biofinity, PWR -1.00). I also spend many hours working at a computer.

My ophthalmologist said that I should NOT wear the lenses while I am working with computer or reading because it could worsen my myopia. Is that true?

Thanks,

Peter

This has been debated for 50 or more years and the answer is not known. Some studies say yes and some say know. You eye does have to work harder to focus for reading than with glasses. and if you are myopic often now work is necessary at all to focus without glasses at near.
