What can be the cause of severe light sensitivity after a concussion?

I got a concussion about 3 months ago at a cheer competition when a girl fell and elbowed me in the face. I didn’t get knocked unconscious but I blacked out for 3 or 4 seconds. Immediately after my performance I went to the athletic trainer who performed an assessment and asked what my symptoms were. Immediately I had a headache, I saw halos around lights, and I felt like I was in a dream state. I went to a concussion specialist who performed an impact test on me and diagnosed me with a concussion. A couple weeks later I got cleared but soon after I started experiencing severe sensitivity to light and my vision seemed to worsen. I had been given glasses to use while driving for distance and now I have to wear them all the time or I can’t see. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced severe light sensitivity this long after a concussion and what their diagnosis was or what they did to stop it.

Light sensitivity, trouble focusing at near, difficulty concentrating, blurred vision are part of the post concussion syndrome.  Not every person has every symptom and not every clears at the same rate. If you need glasses for distance generally you are myopic or nearsighted. That is not due to concussion. You should be seen by an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a medical eye exam.
