What can i do?

What can i do?

I have been diagnosed with Pars Planitis. I have been living with it since I was 18 years old. It is not painful, but it makes ADL's some what more challenging. (Ie Driving, reading, Sun, computers) I started Injections and it seemed to be a "quick fix" 3 months later it would start all over again. I decided to stop treatment. The diagnosis is unrelated to any other medical disorder as i only have one other diagnosis. (PCOS) They both began at the sam time. So i guess my first question is, are the Pars planitis and the PCOS related?
Also, is there a more cost effictive and more reliable way to treat Pars planitis? (Dr declined the idea of oral steroids)

Too many acronyms to keep track of.

I would suggest you use the search feature and read the many informative discussions of pars planitis from these forums. Then read the section at www.emedicine.com

I would suggest you get a second opinion from either a retina/vitreous Eye MD or a Eye MD that specializes in inflammation/uveitis. Find one at www.aao.org

I would not "just do nothing".

Some cases of PP do burn themselves out in early middle age.

I will read the information that you suggested. I have had many people confirm the diagnosis. It started with my regular eye exam, then to a specialist in my home town, to the specialist in Toronto, and becasue of the rareness, i also had a whole class of students poke and pull at my face so that they could look at the "snowballs" (I guessl, thats what they called it) in my eyes. So I am almost sure that the dianoses is correct. Thank you for your help. I will Just keep getting my regular check ups. I assure you i am not "Just doing nothing" i am young and surrently going to school for nursing, i would sure like to be able to keep my vision. Its hard to fix a problem that has no casue. (That can be found) again thank you!

"snowballs and snowbank" is what it looks like. If you have never seen what the pathology looks like go to Google Images and type in pars planitis.
