What color are regular scotomas?

During the day with eyes open, they can be blacked out spots. What about with eyes closed? Should the same scotoma that is dark when eyes are open be dark with eyes closed or very bright?

No scotoma often change color light dark with eyes open and dark when closed. You need to see an Eye MD very soon. Find one at www.aao.org

I saw a retina guy and he said he didn't see anything wrong on the exam.

But essentially, can a scotoma be bright when eyes are closed or is that unusual? When my eyes are open, it is usually brown/black. Also, I feel like portions of the scotoma are now "perforating", meaning what used to be a dark blob now has tiny openings in it. Don't want to jinx it, but does that mean anything?

Thank you very much for your reply.
