What is POV?

I have been told that a possible cure for floaters is something called a POV procedure. What is this? Is it like a Vitrectomy in which case i assume it carries many risks and side effects.

Floaters Only Vitrectomy is not considered standard of care in the US.  I cannot recommend the procedure because the risk of the procedure far outweighs the benefit in most cases in my opinion.  Most  people deal with floaters very well and they are VERY, VERY  common.  Some people just get desperate and will do anything.  From what I have learned this is just a vitrectomy - how else would you be able to remove cloudy vitreous.

Apologies I meant FOV procedure.

Thank you. I have floaters for 1 year after a PVD (and shortly after LASIK treatment) and I am in my mid forties. I find them annoying and distracting but as you say I just need to deal with them. The YAG laser treatment was something I also consider but that also has a lot of risks.
