What is the cause for ruptured eye vessels?

I woke up this morning to find my right eye with a bursted blood vessel. This had never happened before. I do have high blood pressure and anxiety. I take medication for both. I usually stress easy. I check my blood pressure everyday and try to keep it down. I don't remember anything happening to me. Is this serious? I am going to see my doctor next week.

If you mean a painless bright red spot on the white of your eyes without reduced vision that is usually "subconjunctival hemorrhage". Causes include: coughing, sneezing, straining, vomiting, medications like heparain. coumadin, steroids, aspirin, plavix, ticklid, NASAIDs, but the other 50% "just happens).
