What is the procedure for removing a cyst in the eye?

I'm 16, and my doctor has said i need to have a cyst removed from the inside of my eyelid. I was wondering what the procedure for this would be? And would I be put under general or local anaesthetic during this procedure? Also, I'm in the UK if that would make any difference.

Usually, a local injection of lidocaine, then a small excision in the office, and usually not much bleeding at all and usually no stitches.  Quick and easy hopefully. Helps if your surgeon has good skills.

Thanks very much. I'm sure it varies in different hospitals but would they put you under general anaesthetic if you asked? I'm very scared about the whole thing, even if it is nothing to worry about. I get nervous even thinking about it so I was planning on asking but would it be possible?
