What this could be?

First of all, I apologise to ask this question in eye forum but I feel all other forums are inactive.
When my AC (air conditioner) is off and room is very silent,  I will hear similar sound in ear (very very less loud than AC sound) and it is same sound we get on covering ear.  Got tested few years back on this, hearing was perfect.

Is this brain filling emptiness with sound?  Same like when nothing to see or close our eyes brain creates random images?  Or something to do with salt or coffee intake? Or may be a normal thing which I am getting aware when alone.

Hmm .... One more question out of my curious mind.
Do you think this is normal physiology?

Because in absence of external sound, ear and brain will anyway try to fill silence and therefore will produce very little sound.
Similar phenomenon that happens when we are in dark room and nothing to see, eyes produces cloud and random patterns.

Tinnitus is not normal physiology. In a totally dark room a healthy eye does not produce "random patterns"

Yes medication like heavy doses of asprin can cause tinnitus, diet should not, coffee can increase tinnitus in those who have it but I don't think will cause tinnitus on its own.

Thank you for answering Mr Hagan.  My hearing test was perfect (got it done when noticed it first time) and doctor said this is something like breathing if we concentrate we notice.

Do you think our body has many things on which if we concentrate they increase.

Yes the body makes noises: heart beating, lungs working, stomach rumbling, etc. Normally we don't pay attention to these. However under stress or anxiety or depression we can start to "home in " on these sounds to the point were it causes distress. The solution is to deal with the stress, anxiety, depression and don't direct them inward.

What you are describing sounds like "tinnitus" or noises in the ear which often sound like ringing, humming, etc. I suggest you see an ENT for a hearing test and ear evaluation. Wax impacted in the ear canal can cause this also.
