What to look for in a LASIK surgeon ?

I am looking to get LASIK done. I have done quite a bit of reading online and all the LASIK hospital websites in my area appear to be the same. They all claim to have the best technology, the best doctor etc. I want to know what i should look for in a LASIK doctor ? My vision is 9 and i have astigmatism. Does that change anything for what i should look for in a doctor's experience  ?

I second walkietalkie's suggestion.  In my area, most LASIK surgeons don't charge a fee for the initial consultation.  Don't forget to consider surgeons who practice in a major medical center.

You have done some research online maybe its time to meet some of the 'best' doctors. Make sure they thoroughly check your eyes to make sure you are a suitable candidate. They may charge a small fee for this. Then go with the one you can trust.

Dr. O,

Thanks for your reply. My question was "I want to know what i should look for in a LASIK doctor ?"

Additionally, asking a friend is not really the best source for medical advise !
