When to see a Retinal specialist?

When to see a Retinal specialist?

I have had lasik surgery 12 years ago and see fine, but need glasses for driving.  I'm 48 and in the last 2 years my diopters have gone from -9 to -12 in the right and -11 to -14 in my right.  My optometrist said I had "stretching" in my Right eye.  Should I be seeing the OPTHAMOLOGIST every 6 months?  Thank you Dr. Hagan!

This does not make sense.  You had LASIK 12 years ago and now you are -12 and -14?

You may also have a corneal problem and or cataracts.  Please see an ophthalmologist.

Dr. O.
