I dont know what is PXE. Does PXE causes the patient to loose their vision?
Thank you.

Thank you so much for your time and discussion. I have learnt a new thing from here which I have never heard before.
Happy New Year doctor.

I TOLD you it would not cover the entire cornea and will not affect the sight. I am ending this discussion.

Dear Doctor,
Yes I got high cholesterol of 7.1 and I think is corneal arcus because there is one picture I saw on googles that looks like it. Will it eventually cover the whole of the cornea of just the sides of the cornea? Anyway I will go to the GP and let her have a look at it. I already suspected it has something to do with my high cholesterol level. I will have to keep my cholesterol down for now as my family has history of coronory heart diseases.
Thank you.
May Loh
The picture is blurry and the detail is not good. With those limitations the location and size is strongly suggestive of an arcus of the cornea.
Go to Google IMAGES type in corneal arcus and see lots of pictures of them.

I have posted the picture here showing the eye.
I hope you can view it.
Thank you.

1. I cannot access the picture. You can use the software on this website and post it here.
2. An arcus never affects the vision and remains confined to the peripheral cornea.

I used a digital camera and snap a picture of my eye and the white ring is sitting on top of my iris as shown. Is on both my left and right eye. Will the white membrane cover the whole cornea eventually? I am worried.
May Loh
I have posted a picture to the email ***@**** and could you take a lok at the picture from there as I dont know how to post a picture here.
Yes I did check my blood lipid profile and my cholesterol level is 7.1 is high.
I am awaiting of the diagnosis of the picture which I have taken today of my eye showing the white membrane sitting in front of the iris on both eyes. I am 49 yrs old.
Thank you.
May Loh
The most common thing on the cornea that would cause a white/grey ring would be arcus senilis or arcus juvenalis and that is cholesterol that is deposited on the peripheral part of Bowman's membrane. In a young person it can come from high blood cholesterol and lipids or it can come from age (greater than 60 years).
MedHelp.org rules proclude a physician forum physcian from accepting letters, personal e mails, faxes, etc.
If you want to post a picture I'll take a look.
What is your age and have you had a blood lipid profile done in the last two years?
JCH MD
I am May Loh and I will take a picture of the white patch and show you. But can I have your email so that I can have it scan and then send via email to you else how am I to send you the picture? I was told by the General Practitioner that is due to high cholesterol and it shows on the eyes. It is actually sitting at the top in front on both of my eyes in the conjuctiva area.
Till I post the picture is too vague for you to make any diagnosis. I am worried and dont want to get any thing like glaucoma.
Thank you.
May Loh
Too vague. Is it on the cornea? Can you take a photo and post?
