Whites of eyes discolored to cream

by rdanner3, Feb 15, 2009 03:06PM
Noticed this today after my sister pointed it out to me; the whites immediately around the iris are still white, but the edges are the color of cream. Is this something I need to see an eye doctor about quickly, or is it likely something relatively minor that can be fixed easily?

This is a very general question about some creamy discoloration of the sclera/conjuctiva.  In general, yellowing of the eye can commonly be due to sun and wind damage or much less commonly due to jaundice from liver disease.  There are other quite rare conditions as well.  Go ahead and make an appointment to see an ophthalmologist.
