I have extremely sensitive eyes. I can't wear polycarbonate or high-index lenses because of the lower ABBE value. So far the only lense material I can wear is Hoya Phoenix Trivex, but I'm not sure of which AR coating I can wear. I received a new prescription on 6-11-10 which was decreased in my left eye from -3.75 to -3.62 and in my right eye it was decreased from -3.25 to -3.12. My new glasses came in with a Trivex material that I could not wear and had a reaction similar to that of the polycarbonate in which I feel as if my balance is off and I can't move my head or it feels like I'm slightly disoriented, but looking straight is fine. I also see rainbows with the materials with the lower ABBE value, as well as get massive almost migraine like headaches. After getting the lenses changed to the Hoya Phoenix Trivex, which is what my old prescription was, I cannot see anything 6 feet in front of my clearly. Also everything has a green tint. I cannot see street signs clearly when driving, which makes me not want to get in the car to drive. I have been wearing glasses for 12 years and have never had to "get used to" a new pair. When I received this pair on 7-14-10 I could tell instantly that everything was blurry. The large sign for the brand of glasses was probably 4 feet away and was a blur. All the colors/letters on the patient files were a big long blur with no letters only colors. I have not been told whether or not I have astigmatism, but from the prescription written on the card the only thing that is written is L-3.63 then two little 00 and R-3.12 then two little 00. I have single vision frames and have no issues reading as I have to remove my glasses to read. I called the next morning after receiving the glasses and was told to give it some time to get used to it. I tried wearing them 1st thing in the morning so that my eyes were fully rested and within an hour I had a terrible headache which felt to be stemming from my eye muscles. I took the glasses off for about an hour and the headache went away and then put them back on again and the headache came back. I don't believe my prescription is strong enough and believe that is why it feels as if my eyes are straining and giving me a headache. I also don't believe that I should "get used to" blurry vision. I feel like I'm putting myself, my child, and everyone else on the road in jeopardy if I drive with this new pair of glasses. Is this something I should get used to or should I have my eyes rechecked for a stronger prescription?
