Why do I always have dry eyes?

Hey guys, maybe you can help me or point me in the right direction.

Ive been wearing contacts since I was about 13 and now Im 26. I suffer from constant dry eyes which has now prevented me from wearing contacts comfortably. Ive gone to the doctor about this and he prescribed me anti-infamatory eye drops which did not work. Then we tried the eye plugs, it helped a tiny bit, but it still did not help me to wear contacts.

My eyes are still dry so now we are trying Restasis, but I read in the instructions that it does not work for people with eye plugs. The doctor told me that basically if this doesn't work he cant help me. Anybody know what my problem could be and how I could fix it? I have to wear contacts, Im a very active person and its annoying to always have to wear my glasses. Oh, and by the way, I took Accutane a few years ago, maybe thats what caused it? Because I don't remember any problems before that. The doctor says no, though, cause it had to have gone away.

That would be up to you and your contact lens fitter. The restasis should not be put on the contacts but some people use restasis in the morning before putting them in and at bedtime after they're removed.

2 months is not a adequate tial. Look at the material that came with the medication it lists 4 months as minimum time to see any response.

6 months! Damn, the doc told me it would take 2 months. Ok, well thanks for your help.

1.Restasis does work with eye plugs; it takes however 4-6 months to "kick in"
2. Use the search feature and archives and read about dry eyes.
3. Go to Dr. hagan's blog and read the article about dry eyes.
