Why vision not 20/20 after cataract surgery
Why can't you get 20/20 vision after cataract surgery if a monovision lens is implanted?  Is it because of miscalculations by the technician?  Thanks.

When you have a cataract removed and an IOL put in the eye you get a new lens but not a new eye. Failure to achieve 20/20 vision after cataract surgery in less likely due to sugical complication than additional disease in the eye such as: glaucoma, macular degeneration, amblyopia, diabetic-hypertensive eye disease, etc.

Think of it like this. If you have a 20 year old automobile and you put new tires on it you DO NOT have a totally new automobile.
