Will Sjogren's meds help with Pars Planitis?

Hello.....I was dx with Pars Planitis (both eyes) back in Sept of 2015.  I was also dx with Sjogren's Syndrome (via lip biopsy) on 4/22/16. I have not yet started on any medications for SS. My next Rheumy appt is 5/6 and I am assuming I will be started on meds then (currently experiencing CHRONIC dry mouth, fatigue, muscle/joint aches).

I have asked several questions before about PP.....what I am curious about now is this.......I have read that SS is an inflammatory illness. And with PP being inflammation too, is there any chance that I MIGHT get lucky and maybe a med that my Rheumy puts me on for inflammation may also help the inflammation in my eyes?

Altho my eye Dr said there was no change at my last check up (March 2016) I am seeing lightning streaks quite often in my left eye. And I am still VERY sensitive to light (I have blue eyes). I am not scheduled to see my eye Dr again until Sept. I am getting a copy of my lip biopsy results mailed to me so I can give a copy to my PCP. I will also take one to my eye Dr as well.

Thanks so much in advance for ALL your help!!!
I *TRULY* appreciate you!!!
Lisa

Yes most ophthalmologists work closely with Rheumatologists for patients with collagen vascular diseases, uveitis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. And yes medication you are prescribed by mouth by the Rheumatologist may help your dry eye and dry mouth. Most patients with SS long term benefit from being on Restasis.  If you are seeing a retina doctor for your PP know that most do not treat dry eyes or anterior segment problems and you likely need a general ophthalmologist or cornea/external disease ophthalmologist on your team.
